Tight Ten

The first hard-antlered buck of the year on my Cuddeback Excite. I've gotten quite a few pictures of this tight-racked ten over the course of the summer. I'm hoping to see him in a few weeks when the season opens up!

Nice Eight

My first buck pictures with the new Cuddeback Capture camera, and my first buck picture of the year on this particular farm. Now that the acorns are finally dropping the deer seem to be hitting this area harder than they were during the summer months.

I just put my new Moultrie I-40 out about two weeks ago and got my first batch of photos off it. No bucks yet, but I am very impressed with the photo quality from this camera. For just over $200 it seems like a great deal so far!

Another good shot of the 7 Stud buck. During the summer it's hard to look at a buck's neck and gauge his age, but the stomach is always a pretty good indicator. I'd put this guy at 3 1/2 years old based on his body, while you may guess him at only 2 1/2 based on his rack.

This is the wide 8 point with nubber brows that I've gotten two dozen pictures of this summer. He's been by far the most camera-friendly buck on this farm so farm this summer.

This 7 point stud doesn't have much for a rack, but he's got a heck of a body on him for late summer. I'm anxious to see how he looks once the rut starts rolling in....

At first I thought this was the same buck I have mutliple photos of this summer until I looked closer and noticed the good brows. There is another buck on this farm with a similar frame and very small, almost non-existant, brow tines. Looks like I've got a pair of decent 8's running around!

This tall 9 pointer just showed up during early August. He's at least a 3 1/2 year old buck if not a little older. It's amazing that all the photos I've got at him are after dark, and all of the younger bucks I have multiple daylight photos of already.

I recently got this photo of a badger on a farm I hunt in Northern Illinois. I didn't even know badgers lived in Illinois! Photo was taken with my Cuddeback Excite 2.0 megapixel digital trail camera.

Another look at this monster Illinois whitetail. The funny part is that the morning this image was taken we were hunting on this farm not more than 300 yards away and never saw this buck.

This B&C class Illinois whitetail was captured on our trail cameras several times, however we never got a look at hime with our own eyes and never found his sheds. Proving yet again that mature whitetails are very much like ghosts when they want to be.
